Paul Bainbridge, BSc (hons), PG Cert, PG Dip, BABCP accred

Hey there, Welcome to Therapyworks Manchester! I just thought i'd take a moment to introduce myself.

I have over 10 years’ experience using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) based interventions in NHS settings, helping people to overcome their problems. I am fully qualified and insured to practice CBT, and have full accreditation with The British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). I am also registered with Axa-PPP, Aviva and Cigna Healthcare as an approved therapist.

Upon completion of my degree in Psychology, I gained a place at the University of Nottingham to train as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP). During this time I worked in a community based NHS service offering CBT based therapy to people experiencing mild-moderate depression and anxiety. After 3 years as a PWP, I progressed to working as a senior practitioner in the service, providing supervision to more junior colleagues... and at this point I was pretty much hooked on CBT as an intervention and started looking to progress in the field.

After a year in this role, I trained as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist at the University of Birmingham. I achieved a distinction in my Postgraduate Diploma in CBT. As part of my training, I completed a placement in a local NHS service, providing CBT assessment and treatment to people experiencing moderate to severe depression and anxiety. Upon qualifying from the course, I continued to work in the NHS for 2 years in both adult and CAMHS (under 16) settings before entering independent practice. I currently split my time between our wonderful NHS and private practice

That's pretty much my life story summed up into a few paragraphs... if you need any more info then please feel free to contact me
